International Medical Solutions (IMS) is launching a platform based on artificial intelligence (AI) to help radiologists and other clinicians use machine learning to determine which radiology studies need immediate attention.
The prototype will feature the Google Cloud Machine Learning Engine, which will provide an indicator to prioritize cases that are most likely to have an abnormality, signal radiologists to review those images more expeditiously, and foster better decision support. In nonemergency cases, the machine-learning model could be used solely for clinical decision support.
IMS plans to demonstrate its new prototype later this month at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) annual meeting in Orlando, FL.
