Advanced visualization and artificial intelligence (AI) software developer TeraRecon has received a new allowance for its patents that cover the use of artificial intelligence in radiology reporting.
The company said it received an expansion of its patent-protected AI interoperability platform that covers continuous synchronization of AI findings between the image interpretation viewer, the physician, and the diagnostic report.
TeraRecon said that the new patent allowance extends the physician's AI oversight beyond just a static view of an AI algorithm's output to a bidirectional interpretation experience within a prepopulated report. The software can notify doctors of unresolved findings to help them determine whether to include them in the report.
The company believes the technology supports the autogeneration of accurate, consistent, and actionable clinical reports.
