Computer software and artificial intelligence (AI) company RSIP Vision has debuted a new coronary artery segmentation tool that provides an accurate 3D model of coronary artery anatomy.

The automated, deep learning-based model provides precise measurements of artery length and diameter at any point. Doing so supports diagnosing heart conditions such as stenosis and allows physicians to plan procedures, stent selection, and stent positioning.

On top of that, RSIP Vision said the tool reduces procedural risks to the patient, offers comprehensive 3D modeling of all vessels, and provides shorter procedure time. The tool is vendor-neutral and available to third-party medical device and application vendors, as well as CT manufacturers.

The initial version of the software shows coronary artery segmentation in contrast CT scans, and going forward, the firm plans to include calcification detection, support for preexisting stents, and 3D reconstruction from 2D angiography.
