U.K. artificial intelligence (AI) software developer Kheiron Medical Technologies has appointed Imperial College London researcher Ben Glocker, PhD, as head of machine-learning research.
Kheiron develops machine learning-driven cancer diagnostics to aid radiologists. The company's lead application for the software is as an aid for breast cancer screening. In his new position, Glocker will help develop AI solutions for cancer diagnostics, ensure inclusion of underrepresented segments of the population, and deploy the company's technology in hospitals, according to Kheiron.
Glocker has been an associate professor at Imperial College London for the past eight years, with a leadership role in building computational tools for image-based detection and diagnosis of disease. He has been an adviser to Kheiron since the company was founded in 2016.
