Artificial intelligence (AI) software developer Kheiron Medical Technologies has received clearance for its Mia mammography breast cancer screening software in Australia and New Zealand.
Specifically, Mia received Therapeutic Goods Administration clearance from the Australian Government Department of Health and MedSafe Web Assisted Notification of Devices Notification from the New Zealand Ministry of Health as an AI-enabled independent reader for the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer, according to Kheiron.
Kheiron said it's launching Mia in Australia and New Zealand in partnership with imaging consulting and software distributor AI Advance. The two companies are currently working with an Australian breast-screening provider to establish protocols for a forthcoming clinical trial.
