GE, University Hospitals enter into 10-year strategic collaboration

GE HealthCare and University Hospitals (UH) in northern Ohio are entering into a 10-year strategic collaboration to deliver AI-enabled devices and technologies at the enterprise level.

The collaboration will bring GE HealthCare technologies to UH across its radiology practice and UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute. The agreement includes hundreds of new systems, including AI-enabled technologies, across nuclear medicine, x-ray, vascular and cardiovascular ultrasound, regional CT, fluoroscopy, surgery, and bone densitometry. GE HealthCare will be the sole provider of these technologies.

The two organizations said one focus of the collaboration is to implement enterprise-wide technology to optimize workflows and help improve clinical decision-making.

Along with that, the two aim to provide ongoing education and training for technologists, students, and physicians that will meet the needs of clinicians. They will also develop a digital command center solution through a cloud-based digital hub for UH's radiology department's workflow management.
