Matt Harper, vice president of business development at Atlanta-based radiology AI software company Inflo Health has a side gig: pumpkin carver extraordinaire.
Harper is co-founder of Carvers & Creators with his friend Paul Dever. Carvers & Creators has produced more than 100 episodes of interviews with pumpkin carving experts and discussions of carving techniques. In 2019 he was featured on Season 19 of the Food Network's Halloween Wars (unbeknownst to him, his daughters sent his name in to apply for the show). His Instagram account showcases many of his creations.
He grew up with a love of art and found a creative outlet in sculpting. This "hobby" helps him recharge, he told AuntMinnie.com.
"Working in healthcare, imaging, and AI, with all of its complexities, is sometimes hard work -- although it's always rewarding," he said. "Sculpting and carving is an escape that also helps me recharge my batteries, and I love the joy it brings to others -- especially around the Halloween season."
Harper will attend the RSNA meeting in Chicago and will offer Inflo Health booth visitors pumpkin carving tips, he said.
Inflo Health recently joined the American College of Radiology's (ACR) Learning Network after qualifying for it through the college's ImPower program.
