Double Black of Westminster, CO, will be touting new calibration, quality assurance, and monitoring software at the RSNA show this year, as well as additions to its LCD display portfolio.
Double Black will highlight its X-Cal DICOM calibration and display QA software, as well as DICOMetrix PACS performance monitoring software. X-Cal, developed by Double Black, provides quality assurance of LCDs and front DICOM calibration, according to the firm.
X-Cal consists of two components: a local agent package and a network administrative package. Paired with the display, the software and hardware combination allows each system to be remotely calibrated to the DICOM grayscale display function and monitored from a central workstation, Double Black said. In addition, notifications are sent to the central workstation or administrator when the LCD requires service; administrators can remotely adjust and perform DICOM 3.14 calibration on each LCD.
Other X-Cal features include automatic calibration and conformance tests, graphical results, table-formatted reporting of data for future use, and the ability to schedule intervals between autocalibrations, Double Black said.
In other software developments, Double Black will be pointing to its DICOMetrix PACS performance monitoring software. The software allows PACS administrators, directors, and IT personnel to monitor and track system performance historically, and alert radiology and PACS support staff about system slowdowns and outages, according to the vendor.
The company will also show a range of new LCDs, including a 45-inch color distant-view LCD with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 500 cd/m² brightness, and a contrast ratio of 800:1. In addition, Double Black will exhibit 2- and 3-megapixel high-bright, color self-calibrating LCDs, as well as a 5-megapixel monochrome LCD with U.S. Food and Drug Administration clearance for mammography.
