Siemens completes offer for SMS

Siemens Medical Engineering Group of Erlangen, Germany announced today that it has completed its tender offer for the shares of healthcare information systems firm Shared Medical Systems of Malvern, PA.

The offer expired at midnight June 30, with about 97% of SMS’ common stock tendered to Siemens. Siemens plans to complete the merger by July 5, the company said.
