GE Medical Systems of Waukesha, WI, has completed the acquisition of Micro Medical Systems, a cardiology image management firm based in Sioux Falls, SD. The acquisition builds on a technology alliance between the companies formed in 1998, which yielded the Catalyst cardiovascular information system. Catalyst unifies patient data, including medical images, waveforms, and descriptive text on a single screen to optimize the viewing and reporting process for clinicians, according to GE.
