Amicas teams up with MedSpecialists

Web portal developer MedSpecialists has signed an agreement with Web-based image management provider Amicas of Newton, MA. Charlottesville, VA-based MedSpecialists will offer Amicas’ imaging capability within its family of specialty-specific Internet portals.

Using the Amicas 2.2 software, specialists such as neurosurgeons and radiation oncologists will be able to capture images from most DICOM-compliant image sources, according to MedSpecialists. Then, using the Amicas 2.2 Viewer, the specialist can view diagnostic-quality images on MedSpecialists’ specialty-specific Internet portals with a standard Web browser, according to MedSpecialists. Specialists will also then be able to distribute the images, according to the firm.
