Workstation developer Aurora Technology has introduced its new E-Series family, which includes 3-D image modeling and viewing of CT and MR images, according to the company. In addition to the two E-series workstations, the Minneapolis firm has also unveiled Clinical Web, a workstation that includes server software provided by PACS firm Softmedical. Aurora made the introductions at the RSNA meeting last month in Chicago.
As part of the company’s bid to offer a complete PACS solution via partnerships, Aurora also displayed integrated components, including server, storage, and data management offerings, at the meeting. Aurora showed connectivity with a Baydel high-speed RAID archive (scalable up to 273 GB), a 36-GB high-volume server by IBM with a capacity for 3,600 studies, and a 16-GB Aurora mid-volume server with data management software by FileLink (capacity for up to 1,500 images).
Aurora also highlighted connectivity with a RISInc./Howtek digitizing and acquisition workstation that acquires and distributes images to a server or viewing station, as well as a WatchGuard network device that creates a firewall for limited access to an institution's
private network. Aurora also offers digital radiography systems via a relationship with Canadian firm Imaging Dynamics.
