Cedara Software has announced several additions to its product offerings for OEMs, including the incorporation of semi-automatic classification tools. The tools are powered by a new fuzzy logic prototype, as well as speed and memory enhancements to its Imaging Application Platform (IAP), according to the Mississauga, Ontario-based supplier.
The new IAP platform provides clinical users with tools to manage large 3-D volumes of patient data, and automatically extract relevant 3-D information on structures or vessels while leaving contextual value intact, according to Cedara.
In other product news, Cedara has received Food and Drug Administration clearance to market its Cedara Software for the Heart cardiac imaging application. The Web-based application will allow medical professionals to capture, retrieve, display, manipulate, measure, report, and save cardiac or other medical images generated from various modalities and sources, according to Cedara.
Cedara also announced that its subsidiary, DICOMIT Dicom Information Technologies, has entered into a luminary agreement with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Under the terms of the deal, TJU’s primary reading room and 28 ultrasound scanners will be equipped with 3-D ultrasound scanning technology and DICOM connectivity offerings for LAN, WAN, and remote ultrasound viewing.
