Healthcare information systems provider IDX Systems reported fourth-quarter revenue of $98 million, up 11.5% compared with the $87.9 million in sales posted last year. For the period (end-December 31), the Burlington, VT-based firm had net income of $1.3 million, compared with net income of $1.7 million in 1999.
The company reported revenues of $341.9 million for the year, flat compared with 1999 revenues of $341 million. IDX had a net loss of $17.3 million, excluding restructuring and nonrecurring charges, compared with a 1999 net loss of $3.9 million, excluding merger and asset impairment charges.
On the bright side, IDX believes the fourth-quarter results demonstrate solid progress in its business initiatives and an improving healthcare IT market, according to CEO Richard Tarrant.
