Webmedx unveils APS-based MQSA mammo reporting

Pittsburgh-based RIS developer Webmedx has expanded its clinical information portal to include a mammography reporting service. The mammography-tracking product is an application service provider (ASP) designed to help facilities meet requirements of the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) for exam tracking, patient communication and medical audits.

The service allows providers to collect, report, track, and analyze mammography procedures and patient communications on a per-transaction basis. Reports can then be stored in any legacy information system via an HL7 interface, the company said. The Webmedx portal also includes an ASP-based enterprise scheduling client, a clinical report tool, and a radiology information service.

The Bedford County Medical Center in Shelbyville, TN has also chosen the Webmedx radiology information service to replace its existing radiology system. The agreement enables the institution to manage its diagnostic imaging information via the Internet, Webmedx said. The company is also providing its transcription outsourcing service to help the center improve report turnaround times.
