Practice management software firm VitalWorks reported first-quarter revenues of $25.4 million, down slightly from the $25.9 million posted for the same period last year. For the quarter (end-March 31), the Ridgefield, CT-based firm had a net loss of $12.8 million, compared with a net loss of $11.2 million in the first quarter of 2000.
Excluding the operations of PracticeWorks (spun off March 5th), depreciation and amortization, and nonrecurring costs, VitalWorks would have had operating income of $1.2 million. On the same basis, VitalWorks had an operating loss of $4.1 million for the first quarter of 2000.
