Siemens Medical Solutions of Erlangen, Germany, will market and distribute Philips Speech Processing’s speech recognition software, SpeechMagic, and will integrate the technology into Siemens’ radiology information system, MagicSAS.
According to Philips Speech Processing of Vienna Austria, this system will allow radiologists to dictate reports up to 50% more efficiently and with fewer mistakes.
After the report is dictated in MagicSAS, it is available for corrections, and is then returned electronically to the radiologist. Online speech recognition makes it possible for the radiologist on call to produce reports immediately, according to the companies.
