PowerFile unveils A3T

Archive technology provider PowerFile has debuted Active Archive ApplianceT (A3T), a network-attached storage system designed to provide long-term online storage.

The A3T consists of a disk-based cache server that currently ranges from 1 to 4 terabytes (TB), file management software, and modular optical WORM-based libraries, according to the Santa Clara, CA-based vendor. Each library can create a subsystem that scales from 3.4 TB to over 30 TB in a single volume, PowerFile said.
