The latest iteration of MedInformatix's RIS, version 6.0, will be demonstrated in the Los Angeles-based developer's exhibit at McCormick Place for the 2006 RSNA show.
The product offers fully integrated scheduling, billing, transcription, document management, collection, and electronic medical record (EMR) functions. Also available are digital dictation and voice recognition, a Web referring module for referring physicians, and automated document distribution, as well as a mammography tracking module. The RIS has interface capabilities with any PACS or healthcare information system (HIS) via industry-standard HL7.
MedInformatix RIS is a Microsoft Windows-based application that uses a single SQL database for all patient information. It is currently available in the U.S. at a base price of $4,500 per use license.
Additional modules and interface pricing are available on request, the company said.
