Ximis

Healthcare information technology firm Ximis will release version 7.0 of its Xiris RIS at the 2006 RSNA conference later this month.

Xiris 7.0 includes a number of enhancements, according to El Paso, TX-based Ximis. The Web-based application is designed for a Linux or Unix server environment. It offers a Microsoft Windows client via a Web browser, and supports several SQL-based databases.

In addition, it is available in several languages including English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Turkish, and Hebrew.

New features and tools enable patients to schedule their own exams and update demographic information, as well as self-register at kiosks on arriving at the imaging facility. A mammography tracking module and a tool that helps facilities convert forms into digital formats are also offered.

Voice recognition and digital dictation are available, as is a teleradiology module for read-only radiology groups. Xiris 7.0 is electronic medical record (EMR)-capable, and its billing functions are HIPAA-compliant, according to Ximis.
