Healthcare information technology firm McKesson has formed a new connectivity business.
With the recently completed acquisition of Per-Se Technologies, the Atlanta-based firm has combined its own connectivity assets with Per-Se's to form a new business called RelayHealth. RelayHealth will expand on McKesson's physician-patient communication business, according to the vendor.
In the pharmacy market, RelayHealth will combine Per-Se's Intelligent Network with McKesson's pharmacy networking services. For payors and providers, RelayHealth will utilize McKesson's Transaction Solutions Hub with Per-Se's corresponding revenue cycle management products.
In the consumer sector, McKesson's existing RelayHealth business provides physician-patient connectivity and care management tools and services, according to the vendor.
