German dictation technology provider Grundig Business Systems will debut a new USB microphone with network functionality and its DigtaSoft Enterprise speech recognition system at next week's Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference and exhibition in New Orleans.
The microphone, DigtaProMic II 840 USB, allows for full control of PC applications, while DigtaSoft Enterprise is a speech recognition package suitable for small and large hospital settings, according to the Bayreuth, Germany-based firm. Working with existing RIS or HIS systems, DigtaSoft Enterprise automatically transfers workflow-based data, according to Grundig.
Physicians can choose whether to perform corrections of recognized text themselves, or have a transcriptionist handle corrections, Grundig said.
