Siemens Medical Solutions has completed its acquisition of certain intellectual property rights and other assets relating to Becton Dickinson's BD.id patient identification system for managing the specimen collection process.
The system is designed to reduce potential errors in the collection of blood, urine, and other samples from patients by confirming that the correct specimen is collected from the right patient, according to Malvern, PA-based Siemens.
