The Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) initiative has launched a new quality domain area.
The new IHE domain is designed to address the infrastructure necessary to share information relevant to quality improvement in electronic patient care and healthcare records, according to Chicago-based IHE. It's being sponsored by the American College of Cardiology (ACC), the American Heart Association (AHA), the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), and the RSNA.
In other IHE news, the IHE Laboratory Technical Committee has published a Laboratory Barcode Labeling (LBL) integration profile for public comment. IHE is requesting comment on the initial draft by April 26.
