The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has made permanent Dr. Robert Kolodner's appointment as national coordinator for health information technology, effective immediately.
Kolodner had been serving as the interim coordinator since September 20, 2006. The position was previously held by Dr. David Brailer, who resigned in May 2006.
