The sale of its interest in Emdeon Business Services in November 2006 resulted in lower revenues and earnings for healthcare services and information technology developer Emdeon in the first quarter (end-March 31).
Revenues totaled $122 million, compared with $277.2 million in the first quarter of 2006. Net income slipped to $6 million, compared with $16.4 million in the same quarter a year ago.
WebMD contributed $73 million to the Elmwood Park, NJ, company's first-quarter revenues.
