A slowdown in sales bookings in 2007 has impacted image management firm Emageon's first-quarter results.
For the period (end-March 31), the Birmingham, AL-based vendor booked $27.3 million in revenue, up 1.3% compared with the $27 million posted in the first quarter of 2006. Emageon had a net loss of $1.8 million, compared with a net loss of $7 million a year ago.
Emageon said the lower bookings are largely due to delays from customers and potential customers as opposed to competitive losses. Based on the slowdown in sales bookings since the first of the year, however, Emageon is lowering its financial guidance for 2007.
Total revenue for the year is now expected to range between $112 million, with an anticipated net loss of $3.7 million to $4.9 million. Excluding noncash charges, Emageon expects to earn $7.6 million to $8.8 million for the year.
