Medical informatics firm CompuMed of Los Angeles has appointed imaging executive Maurizio Vecchione as its new president and CEO.
Previously a consultant to CompuMed, Vecchione helped the company's board develop its current strategic plan. He serves as a managing partner of Synthetica Holdings, a private equity and venture fund company in Pacific Palisades, CA, and in the past has held the post of CEO at Trestle Holdings (now part of Carl Zeiss Microimaging), a medical imaging and digital pathology company, and Microwave Photonics, a wireless infrastructure company.
The resignation of CompuMed's former CEO, Jerry McLaughlin, went into effect June 1, 2007. McLaughlin will continue to act as a consultant to CompuMed through the end of the calendar year.
