GE Healthcare has released a new version of its Centricity Enterprise software suite.
Designed to add enhanced workflow tools for clinicians, the new release employs computerized physician order entry (CPOE) and provides real-time access to patients' electronic records, according to the Chalfont St. Giles, U.K.-based vendor. A new Web portal provides patients with access to their personal information, GE said.
In addition, the new version of Centricity Enterprise is supported by the NonStop Itanium platform from computer developer HP of Palo Alto, CA. The platform is designed to provide 99.99% uptime, GE said.
