Speech recognition firm MedQuist said it has engaged Bear, Stearns & Co to advise it on strategic alternatives for the company.
The Mount Laurel, NJ-based firm said there is no assurance that any transaction will occur as a result of its strategic alternatives review.
In a July 6 press release, Royal Philips Electronics, the Netherlands-based parent of Philips Medical Systems of Andover, MA, said it is "reviewing its options" regarding its 70% ownership stake in MedQuist.
