CompuGroup of Koblenz, Germany, has outbid Sydney, Australia-based IBA Health to acquire British healthcare software vendor iSoft for 237.7 million euros ($328 million U.S.).
The boards of both CompuGroup and iSoft, based in Oxfordshire, U.K., have given their respective approvals to the proposed transaction.
The new deal negates IBA Health's offer of 208 million euros ($287.2 million) for iSoft this past May. IBA Health said it is considering its options and would make a further announcement regarding a possible course of action.
CompuGroup also reached an agreement with Computer Sciences (CSC) to take full control of certain obligations with respect to the U.K.'s National Program for Information Technology (NPfIT), which is intended to create an electronic medical record network across England.
In addition, CompuGroup would divest parts of iSoft's U.K. business established under the NPfIT to CSC for an undisclosed amount.
