The U.S. hospital information systems (HIS) market could reach $21 billion by 2012, according to a study from market research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan of San Jose, CA.
The study credits the need to reduce medical errors, improve the delivery of healthcare, and provide cost-efficient services as three reasons for increased HIS adoption and investment in the U.S.
The report estimates the domestic HIS market tallied $10.34 billion in revenues in 2005.
