Nuance inks Baylor deal, releases new product

Nuance Communications of Burlington, MA, has signed a contract with Dallas-based Baylor Health Care System to install Dictaphone's iChart transcription services, as well as dictation and speech recognition technology.

The implementation will cover 12 facilities and aid in the documentation process for approximately 3,800 physicians.

Nuance also released the next generation of its Enterprise Express Speech system. The speech-assisted transcription product is designed for healthcare provider organizations and medical transcription companies to reduce transcription costs, improve turnaround time, and increase overall productivity.

The rollout came at this week's meeting of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) in Philadelphia.
