IBA, PETLinQ acquire SourceMedical's radiology division

IBA Molecular, North America, a division of Belgian radiopharmaceutical firm Ion Beam Application (IBA), and PETLinQ of Alexandria, VA, have acquired the radiology division of SourceMedical of Birmingham, AL. The acquisition will expand the companys' product line to include the SourceRad RIS and billing system.

SourceRad is designed to improve productivity through the automation of routine processes, such as patient scheduling, registration, and management reporting, as well as revenue cycle management. Additionally, it offers full support for HL7 electronic claims processing and statement letters.

IBA Molecular and PETLinQ anticipate that the new RIS and billing functions will add improved workflow management functions to assist their fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) customer base.
