GE teams with Microsoft on IT

GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., and Microsoft of Redmond, WA, have entered into a software vendor alliance to provide customers with enhanced healthcare IT administration capabilities that support GE's Centricity Enterprise healthcare IT technology.

Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 will be the foundation for billing, accounting, human resources, and materials management applications that integrate with the clinical, patient administration, and financial capabilities in Centricity Enterprise.

When combined, information will be captured in the electronic patient record created by Centricity Enterprise and automatically passed to Microsoft Dynamics AX to generate bills, update supply inventories, or inform staffing plans.
