Healthcare informatics developer Medsphere Systems of Aliso Viejo, CA, has launched an upgraded version of its OpenVista Radiology electronic health record (EHR) package.
OpenVista Radiology 2.0 features automatic check-in, automatic printing of radiology requisition reports, upgraded worklists, picture archiving, and autofax capabilities. The package also checks patients in and assigns them case numbers on the day of exams, which frees technologists to perform other duties by eliminating manual check-in, Medsphere said.
OpenVista is the commercialized version of VistA EHR, which the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs created 20 years ago, according to Medsphere.
