Google joins National Cyber Security Alliance

The National Cyber Security Alliance, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit organization designed to promote awareness of Internet safety and security, announced that Google of Mountain View, CA, has joined the association's board of directors.

Erin Davis, head of antimarketing at Google, will assume the position, joining representatives from major corporations involved in healthcare IT, including Cisco, EMC, McAfee, Microsoft, Science Applications International (SAIC), and Symantec.

Earlier this summer, Google's health branch endorsed the Declaration of Health Data Rights, a set of principles designed to promote safe and secure patient access to electronic health records.
