GE Healthcare of Chalfont St. Giles, U.K., and Arabian telecommunications firm Etisalat have formed a partnership to advance healthcare IT in the United Arab Emirates.
Etisalat and GE will develop and offer medical data management and remote clinical support services via Etisalat's telecom infrastructure.
The companies plan to collaborate in cardiology systems technology to introduce GE's MUSE cardiology information system on software-as-a-service business model to provide cardiac assessments to hospitals and clinics.
Etisalat and GE also plan to explore joint areas of cooperation in telemetry applications and asset management through RFID (radiofrequency identification) technology and PACS.
