Healthcare IT and advanced visualization developer Merge Healthcare of Milwaukee will unveil new anesthesia information management products this week at the annual meeting of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA).
The three works-in-progress technologies use forms-based electronic templates and enhanced tools to reduce documentation time, improve data accuracy and charge capture, and allow for transition from paper-based systems to electronic systems for a patient's electronic health record.
Frontiers 4.3 is an upgrade of an anesthesia information management and perioperative care information management system designed to give preop nurses the ability to switch between cases more quickly and improve patient care and throughput.
Frontiers Sidecar is a small-footprint appliance used to document procedures within the electronic Frontiers chart. Its ergonomic navigation dial and procedure-specific buttons allow clinicians who are involved in a patient procedure to chart procedures using one hand.
Frontiers Patient Portal is designed to simplify the presurgical testing process and minimize surgery cancellations. Logging onto the secure portal from their computer or mobile device, patients can privately complete a health survey of their health and provide presurgical clinicians with information for determining the risk level of each surgery candidate.
