Radiology decision-support developer Medicalis has introduced its Coordinated Imaging Care Solution (CICS).
CICS is an integrated technology platform that provides clinical decision support, e-ordering, and quality tracking for facilitating comparative effectiveness in medical imaging, according to the Kitchener, Ontario-based firm. CICS allows for monitoring of 30 quality measures, including patient-specific accumulated radiation exposure and adherence to patient safety standards.
It will also measure how often diagnostic imaging leads to a critical result, such as the diagnosis of a disease, Medicalis said. CICS connects seamlessly to HL7 and electronic health record (EHR) systems, according to the firm.
