MedQuist names James as CFO

Speech recognition and transcription technology provider MedQuist of Mount Laurel, NJ, has named Anthony James as chief financial officer (CFO).

James currently serves as the company's co-chief operating officer (COO) and also will continue in that position, according to the company.

He previously served as the COO for Spheris, a global outsource provider of clinical documentation technology and services, from 2006 until April 2010. MedQuist acquired Spheris in April.

James also served as the CFO for Spheris from 2001 to 2006, after joining the company in November 1999 as controller, MedQuist said.
