GE Healthcare has introduced version 5.0 of its Centricity Business revenue cycle management software.
The release includes 211 new features that aim to provide "low-touch" billing, clinical connectivity, regulatory compliance, better patient access, and lower total cost of ownership, according to the vendor. For example, Centricity Business 5.0 offers an improved ability to meet the risks of the growing self-pay patient population by reducing human touch across the patient access and revenue cycle processes, GE said.
The new release also adds tighter, closed-loop connectivity between Centricity Business and any electronic medical record (EMR), and it provides organizations with native ICD-10 support, the company said. Enterprise-wide patient scheduling has also been streamlined and virtualization has led to a reduced cost to implement, support, and maintain Centricity Business, GE said.
In other Centricity news, GE has selected systems integrator Clerity Healthcare as its exclusive systems integration technical solutions provider for GE's Centricity Practice Solution and Centricity EMR customers. Clerity will provide turnkey hardware and software packages, according to the firms.
A longstanding GE business partner, Clerity has already implemented more than 300 Centricity EMR installations. GE Centricity and EMR customers can now order fully configured and tested Centricity Practice and EMR systems directly from Clerity.
