Speech recognition and software developer Nuance Communications announced that it has added Dragon Medical Practice Edition to its portfolio of medical speech recognition software products.
Dragon Medical Practice Edition is designed to help clinicians and healthcare organizations create medical notes directly in any electronic health record (EHR) in real-time. It yields a 15% improvement in accuracy over previous Dragon Medical software releases, and it's designed to benefit physicians in small practices, in particular, according to the company.
Users of Dragon Medical Practice Edition may be able to save 40 to 60 minutes per day on documentation, and the software supports more detailed documentation of patients' history of present illness and more flexible review of symptoms.
New features added include smart configuration functionality and the ability to detect and notify a user of poor audio input.
