Healthcare IT and advanced visualization developer Merge Healthcare has landed installations of its RIS software in Virginia and Maryland.
Reston Radiology Consultants and Washington Radiology Associates in Virginia and Shady Grove Radiological Consultants and Advanced Diagnostic Radiology in Maryland acquired the company's software. The installations will enable the facilities to capture and report on practice metrics required to demonstrate meaningful use of electronic health records and receive stimulus funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
The Merge software can be certified as a complete electronic health record, making each physician at the practice eligible for payment of up to $44,000 each, the company noted.
