Healthcare IT and advanced visualization developer Merge Healthcare said that its OrthoEMR v4.0 software has received complete electronic health record (EHR) ambulatory certification from an Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB).
The certification by the Drummond Group's program confirms the software's compliance with the U.S. government's meaningful use standards, and providers who use the software can now qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). In addition, OrthoEMR has been certified to electronically generate and transmit prescriptions, according to Merge.
