Radiology decision-support firm Medicalis and Strategic Radiology have announced at the RSNA 2011 meeting in Chicago an alliance that will give Strategic Radiology and its members access to Medicalis' clinical decision-support imaging order entry system.
Strategic Radiology is a radiologist-owned national radiology organization involving 14 radiology group practices, 890 radiologists, and contracts with more than 120 community hospitals.
The decision to acquire the Medicalis decision-support platform was made after about a year of study examining which of several options would lead to the most appropriate use of advanced imaging for Strategic Radiology's affiliated radiology groups and their referring physicians, according to Dr. Arl Van Moore, chairman of the organization.
