Fuji nets EHR certification

Fujifilm Medical Systems USA's Synapse RIS Version 6.1 has received modular electronic health record (EHR) certification for meaningful use.

Fujifilm's Synapse RIS Version 6.1 features an upgraded dashboard that enhances a user's ability to manage performance in real-time. Version 6.1 also includes Synapse Financials for RIS to incorporate the billing process into the system and a feature designed to alert a user to dose management concerns for the patient.

Fujifilm submitted its health IT systems for testing and EHR certification by an authorized testing agency, as set up by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC). Products receiving modular EHR certification meet multiple criteria, whereas complete EHR certification meets all 33 ONC criteria.
