The Obama administration has named Todd Park, formerly chief technology officer (CTO) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), as the new U.S. chief technology officer.
In three years at HHS, Park led the execution of a number of initiatives, including the creation of HealthCare.gov, the first website to provide consumers with information on health insurance plans available across the U.S.
As U.S. CTO, Park is tasked with applying technology to make the federal government work better for the American people. Obama created the position upon entering office, and Park replaces Aneesh Chopra, the first U.S. CTO, who stepped down last month.
