The American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) has named Dr. Kevin Fickenscher as its new president and CEO.
He will officially assume his responsibilities on April 1, filling a position that has been vacant since November 2011 when Dr. Ted Shortliffe, PhD, resigned.
Fickenscher has been president of Creo Strategic Solutions, a healthcare consulting network. He has also served as chief strategy and development officer for Dell Healthcare Services, and as executive vice president of international healthcare for Perot Systems.
