Bangkok Hospital is planning to upgrade its RIS and electronic medical record (EMR) system, according to a news article published on May 29 in the Thai publication the Nation.
Additional projects reported by Dr. Somsak Wankilcharoen, the hospital's chief information officer, that will be undertaken in 2012 include digitizing all medical records throughout the hospital's 40 departments and increasing the number of intensive care unit (ICU) rooms equipped with technology for real-time remote monitoring of ICU patients' conditions from 16 to 60.
Asina Pornwasin of the Nation reported that Wankilcharoen advised that the hospital will also implement a new support system in its 29 campuses over the next 18 months, and is currently in a trial of videoconferencing, instant messaging, and Web conferencing software.
